As this was a Christmas night out it was a black toe event in the private Snug . Food was delicious and one of our party who works in another establishment said the choice was good as the food was excellent. The scallops were a good size, the version very tender . The cheeseboard was a lovely selection. The 2 servers who's name o did not catch were very knowledgeable about the types of gins on offer . They were very attentive to the group's needs. The antique cutlery and China add a unique twist and the temourus beastie thistle wall paper and tartan accessories let you know your in a very Scotland them restaurant.

Tremendous dining experience. Staff were wonderful. Food was out of this world. A little pricey but you get what you pay for and this is right up there with the best of them. I highly recommend 👌

From the outside, The Buttery looks like an abandoned pub, but once you step inside, you enter a completely different world. We had a really lovely experience from start to finish. The food was excellent, I had the scallops and fillet steak, and would highly recommend both. We accidentally left some gloves behind, and the team very kindly sent them on to our hotel the next day, which was hugely appreciated. Thanks so much to everyone at The Buttery. We hope to see you again soon.

This is a gorgeous find, old school panelling on the walls, cosy booths, with touches of tartan in the carpet and seat coverings. The food was sublime, absolutely savoured every mouthful. A lovely venue for a special meal whatever the occasion.

Lovely lunch, ambience, staff and food were exceptional. Not many places you get good service nowadays but it was outstanding in The Buttery, first visit but won’t be our last.

The Buttery is a treat we give ourselves every now and then. This time, a first, we took advantage of a voucher deal for lunch. It didn't disappoint. We weren't squirrelled away in a 'voucher' corner. We had a lovely corner table. The food was divine as always and the service is always above and beyond.

A wonderful, "olde world" dining experience. Dark wood paneling, comfortable quiet nooks, polished and refined service. Elegant but never stuffy. Our charming waiter, Toby, was professional but, at the same time, warm and friendly. The starters were excellent ( cream of celery soup and beef shin). Both fish "Mains" were wonderful. At The Buttery the tradition of excellence continues. Highly recommended.

Incredible food, atmosphere, and service. Outstanding!! We had the scallops, seafood Marie rose, glazed halibut, Cullen Skink, and creme brûlée. 10/10 on everything!! Probably can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. The service is amazing and the vibe in the restaurant is so comfy and nice.

I’ have been planing a visit for som time, and what a brilliant restaurant this is. Scallops, Porchetta and the Scottish buffalo cheese all just brilliant. For main venison rich in flavour carrots on the side match in heven. Cajun Halibut and Langustine mild not overthrow the hlubut taste asparagus with rose harissa hollandise on the side delicious. Scottish beef fillet melted in my mouth burgundy sauce parma ham terrine. “I’ll be back “. There was no room for dessert, but I forced tvo on the table the lemon posset and whiskey baba. For a short tine I was in heaven then the waiter came with petits fours and whisky compliment of the house. Service friendly and professional , over all five stars, very pleasant and memorable experience. Thanks for everything.

I really like this restaurant. Stopped by at 12pm on Sunday prior to our flight from Glasgow to Heathrow. Environment is old vibey but really charming. Service was also decent and the food, although not super creative, was really really well cooked. Everything was delicious. Loved my monkfish and scallops fish and the Cullen skink. Cocktails also delicious. I do think that the service is a bit aloof and not necessarily warm, as other reviewers have stated.
